SWATCHSCAPE: MORGAN TAYLOR KUNG FU PANDA 3

In partnership with Dreamworks, Morgan Taylor released a collection inspired by Kung Fu Panda 3. The movie, which will be in theaters January 29, 2016, continues the adventures of main character, Po, and introduces Mei Mei, voiced by Kate Hudson. Our swatcher, Emily, tried the Kung Fu Panda 3 collection and shared her notes and gorgeous swatch photos. Here are her impressions:

‘Po-riwinkle‘ is a periwinkle purple/blue color with a beautiful shimmer, which you can really see in the macro shot. This is two coats with topcoat. This is the thinnest polish in the collection.

‘Tigress Knows Best‘ is one of the two cremes in this collection and it is so buttery, it has the perfect formula for one coat. It goes on smooth and dries pretty glossy, the macro is without topcoat.

‘Kung Fu-chsia‘ is a fuchsia pink, the brightest polish in the collection. This can also be worn with just one coat, 2 coats are shown.

‘It’s Gotta Be Mei‘ is the polish with the most shimmer in the collection, it’s a soft pink that has full coverage in two coats. It’s also the streakiest in the collection, but not horribly so.

‘Warriors Don’t Wine‘ is the second cream in the collection. This one is thinner than ‘Tigress Knows Best’ but still glides on so smoothly.

‘Extra Plum Sauce‘ is a deep purple shimmer, shown in two coats but can be worn with just one, even coat. It has such a nice pink shift you can really see it in the macro, along with a slightly blue shift.

According to Emily, “The brushes for the Morgan Taylor Kung Fu Panda 3 Collection are so smooth and soft that they really help with application and spreading, they don’t leave marks in the polish at all – with the exception of ‘It’s Gotta Be Mei.’ The creams in this collection water marble decently when mixed with other brands, when I tried to put the two creams together they mixed in the water and came out more brown than purple and red.”
