As The Nailscape grows, we are excited to bring you swatches of the latest polish collections and professional products. We are building a network of highly talented swatchers and reviewers, and are always considering new talent to add to that network. Feel free to email thenailscape AT gmail with samples of your work and qualifications!
Our first swatches come from Emily Lancaster, who we’re proud to introduce to you today. In her words:
“I LOVE to do my nails, designs and swatches. I have been painting my nails for about 4 years and swatching on and off for a little over a year. I have a fiancé and a two year old daughter who I absolutely love to death and I go to Columbia College. I work full time and I have a lot of late nights – because I hate to have naked nails! My life is basically family, school, work, and nails!”

Our featured collection today is Color Club’s Frostbite Collection for Winter 2015, available now on Color Club’s site. It is a seven-piece collection of mostly metallic frosts, and one glitter. Let’s dive in:
Winter White – Pearly white color
24° Below – Soft gold color
Polar Vortex – A dark, almost gunmetal silver color with just a hint of blue that you can see in the light
Snowed In – A lighter silvery color, the least blue of the silvers
Triple Lutz – Really beautiful rose gold color
I’m Gonna Luge It – Really pretty crystal-y looking silver blue color. It looks silver in dim lighting but as soon as any light hits it it really lights up and it looks like little crystals of ice all over your nails
What A Flake – Glitter topper filled with silver, white, and black hexes of various sizes
According to Emily, the formula was really easy and smooth for all of the polishes in this collection except for What A Flake; the glitter topper was really thick. “It had a really unbalanced glitter to base ratio. It had so much glitter I had trouble doing anything but dabbing glitter on. Finally I poured some clear polish into the bottle and the glitter went on smoothly then, I didn’t have to fish and dab anymore,” she shared.
