The American Music Awards are probably a made up reason for stars to get glam and tear up the red carpet, but we don’t mind at all. The AMAs are known for relaxed fashion and an excuse for musicians and models to let their hair down a party a bit.
Tove Lo
When it came to the nails, many celebs chose safe shades, but we spied a few fun looks too. Selena Gomez absolutely shut the red carpet down with her deep red nails to go with her sequined Givenchy gown and tonal makeup.
Swedish songstress Tove Lo rocked some black nails to go with her head to toe stunning see-through look. Glam rock and full of drama, her nails were our faves of the night.
The night’s host, Jennifer Lopez, stunned in 10 separate wardrobe changes during the show, but she kept her nails neutral, natural, and a little bit bling with full cover nails by Tom Bachik. We know he used a custom mix of L’OrΓ©al colors including Infallible 910, “Forever Mink.” He also attached some crystals to the tips of the nails with Akzentz Bling On and a Crystal Katana. It’s incredibly refreshing to see some pro-only products used and promoted! We’d love to know how he gets Bling On to work over traditional polish – maybe he coatsΒ the polish with gel top coat. Inquiring minds need to know, Tom!
J Lo with nails by Tom Bachik
Pop singer Z Lala arrived in an Octopus tentacle gown and coordinating metallic green and blue claw-shaped nail enhancements that looked like gel polish with transfer foil over the top. They definitely completed the look which was part sea witch, part couture gown.
We can always count on the music industry to bring the most interesting nails to the red carpet, so we can’t wait for the Grammy’s!
